You know what struck me first about Old City Hatefi Apartments? The location is absolutely perfect – and I mean that in the most practical way possible. You’re literally inside Ichari Shahar, the ancient walled city, on Mirza Mansur street, which honestly feels like stepping back centuries while still having your modern comforts. I’ve stayed in plenty of places that claim to be “in the heart of everything,” but this one actually delivers. You can hear the call to prayer from nearby mosques in the early morning (it’s gentle, not jarring), and there’s this wonderful smell of fresh bread from the bakeries that seems to drift through the narrow cobblestone streets around 7 AM.

What really impressed me – and this is coming from someone who’s pretty picky about accommodations – is how they’ve managed to blend authentic Azerbaijani character with genuinely comfortable apartment-style living. The building itself has that weathered stone look you’d expect in the old quarter, but inside? Everything works properly, which isn’t always a given in historic properties, trust me. The apartments are spacious enough that you don’t feel cramped even if you’re staying for a week, and there’s actual kitchen space if you want to grab ingredients from the local markets (the Teze Bazaar is maybe a 15-minute walk). The WiFi is solid too – I was working remotely part of the time and never had issues, even during what seemed like peak hours.

Here’s the thing about staying right in Ichari Shahar: you’re going to hear some street noise, especially during weekends when locals and tourists are wandering around until late. But honestly? It’s more charming than disruptive. The sounds are mostly footsteps on cobblestones and conversation, not traffic or construction. What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood – they gave me directions using local landmarks instead of just pointing at a map, and their restaurant recommendations were spot-on (definitely try that little place they suggest near the Maiden Tower). The 9.5 rating makes total sense when you experience the combination of location, comfort, and that genuine hospitality that feels distinctly Azerbaijani. If you’re the type of traveler who wants to feel like you’re living in Baku rather than just visiting it, this place delivers without making you sacrifice the practical stuff that actually matters during a stay.

  أقمت مع عائلتى فى شقه مكونه من 4 غرف نوم وصاله ودورة مياه بسعر ممتاز ، كل شيء كان فى قمة الجمال الموقع والنظافه والهدوء والراحه .
  الموقع قريب من شارع نظامي وأيضا قريب من البوليفارد وتستطيع الذهاب لهم سيرا .
  أنصح باختياره للإقامة وأقدم بالغ الشكر للأخ عمران رجل جيد وخدوم وسريع التجاوب وابتسامته الجميله لا تفارقه . شكرا له

  Проживали в апартаментах с двумя спальнями на 3-м этаже (есть лифт) в самом сердце старого города. В апартаментах своя собственная большая терраса с видом на минарет 12 века. Несколько раз заказывали завтрак (накрывают на верхней террасе на 4 этаже). В шаговой доступности все достопримечательности, но ночью очень тихо, даже с открытой дверью на террасу. Отдельный респект Имрану, он очень гостеприимен и всегда на связи, готов помочь.

  The location is amazing, right in the heart of the old town. Going on the roof gives amazing view of sea and surrounding old city. The property is generally clean except the toilet where it can certainly be improved.
  
  What could be improved: The Toilet can be improved – the common areas can as well be slightly more polished. There is no parking and car will not take you to the door of the property. But it is okay since it is the area where cabs/cars can not go.

  Apartment has an ideal location within the Icheriseher, old city. Close to promenade, Metro station and Nizami street. Nice old style cosy apartment. Great view of the Caspian sea from the terrace. Friendly & helpful staff. Clean rooms with basic amenities. Close to Baku F1 circuit.
  
  What could be improved: Old city is closed for cars. We had to walk with luggage on cobbled street. Location on Google maps is not exact.

  Прекрасное расположение в Старом городе, все в шаговой доступности. Встретили, поселили, всегда были на связи. Разрешили поздний выезд, благодарим. Есть большая общая терраса на верхнем этаже с замечательным видом на море и город. Апартаменты большие, кухня оборудована всей необходимой техникой. Вай-фай прекрасный. Нам все понравилось, спасибо хозяевам!
  
  What could be improved: На мой взгляд, конкретно в наших апартаментах, нужно немного "освежить" ремонт в ванной комнате. И на кухне добавить посуды. Хотя, думаю, принесли бы все необходимое, если бы мы попросили, но мы не готовили и нам хватило.
