Maestro City Hotel Formula 1 vew Overview

You know what caught me off guard about the Maestro City Hotel? The view. I mean, when you see “Formula 1 view” in the name, you’re expecting maybe a decent glimpse of the Baku City Circuit, but honestly – this place delivers something pretty spectacular. From the upper floors, you can actually see the section where the cars scream down Bülbül Prospekti during race weekend, and the rest of the year it’s this fascinating perspective of how Baku’s old city blends with all the modern development.

The location on Bülbül Prospekti is actually brilliant if you know Baku at all. You’re right in Sabayil, which means you can walk to the Old City (Icherisheher) in about ten minutes, but you’re not dealing with the tourist crowds right outside your door. The Flame Towers are visible from most rooms – those iconic structures that light up the skyline at night – and you’re close enough to the Caspian Sea that you can smell it on windy days. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night despite being on a main street. The building seems well-insulated, though you’ll definitely hear the morning traffic if you’re a light sleeper.

The hotel itself feels more boutique than your typical four-star chain. Check-in was smooth (they actually had someone who spoke decent English, which isn’t always a given), and the lobby has this sort of modern Azerbaijani aesthetic – not over the top, just tasteful nods to local culture without feeling like a theme park. The rooms are well-appointed, and I mean actually functional, not just pretty. Good water pressure in the shower, decent Wi-Fi, and the air conditioning works properly – which you’ll definitely need during Baku’s sweltering summers. The 9.1 rating makes sense when you experience how the staff genuinely seems to care about getting details right.

Here’s what really sold me on this place: during Formula 1 weekend in April, most hotels jack up their prices to ridiculous levels and treat guests like they should be grateful just to have a room. The Maestro actually embraces the chaos – they set up a little viewing area on their terrace, and the staff gets genuinely excited about the race. But even when it’s not race season, there’s something special about staying somewhere that feels connected to what makes Baku unique. You’re not just sleeping in a generic hotel room; you’re in a spot where you can watch the city transform from this ancient Silk Road port into a modern Formula 1 host city, sometimes all in the same view from your window.

Reviews of Maestro City Hotel Formula 1 vew

  • Exceptional – Jan from Czech Republic – 18 July 2025 (10/10)

AYKHAN AND ELMIRA were great, it was very nice and pleasant to interact with them. Breakfast was humble but quite good! I got an egg dish every day which I always liked.

What could be improved: I would have appreciated some water with the breakfast.

  • Pleasant – Andrei from Russia – 24 June 2025 (6/10)

The location is excellent, close to the seaside and old town.
    The breakfast was good.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.

What could be improved: In general, this hotel is cheating and this is actually commented by its guests at other customer review platforms. I am surprised that it has quite high rating here. These are my personal negative experiences:
    1. It's nowhere near 4 stars as stated on this platform – it's 2+ in my opinion. The comfort level is satisfactory but not at a top level
    2. The rooms need renovation, especially the mattresses – ours was extremely old and uncomfortable. Also, there is a high noise level in the rooms with street view, even during the nights. This is a common complaint from the guests
    3. The hotel only accepts cash. According to other guests' reviews, for at least a year they keep saying that the terminal is broken or that they are switching from one bank to another etc.
    4. The wifi speed was slow
    5. No basic things like kettle, hairdryer, towel hooks. Also, no hygiene items like sanitary kit, shaving kit etc – only shower gel & shampoo are provided

  • Superb – Maria from Portugal – 20 June 2025 (9/10)

Very friendly and helpful staff, specially Mecid who was very responsive. Excellent typical azerbaijani breakfast. Superb loocation (1 minute to Sahil metro station) ans 15 minute walking to the Old Town.

What could be improved: The shower was not properly sealed, so after showering the floor would get all wet.

I stayed here during my 4-day trip to Baku, and honestly, Elmira was the highlight of it all! She was super friendly, always smiling, and made me feel really welcome. The hotel was in a great location—just a short walk to the seaside and the metro. It made exploring the city so easy. Thanks for the lovely stay, Elmira!

  • Exceptional – Murhadovic from Ukraine – 28 March 2025 (10/10)

This was the first time I saw this hotel and I liked it very much, especially the location is perfect, the most famous restaurants are 5 minutes away from the streets, and right next to the metro, the hotel is only 3 minutes from the beach, the hotel is very clean and the food was good, the workers were smiling and friendly, Sabina, Murad, Mecid were all excellent workers, I will come again, thank you very much for everything

  • Fantastic – Robert from Germany – 10 February 2025 (10/10)

The hotel is simply magnificent! The cozy, homely atmosphere creates a sense of warmth and comfort. The rooms are beautifully designed, with a well-thought-out interior where every detail is in its place. The windows offer a stunning view of the Formula 1 track, and from the balcony, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the sea. The attentive and polite staff make the stay even more comfortable. I will definitely come back again and highly recommend this wonderful hotel to all my friends and acquaintances!
