Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of places around Baku, but Khazar Inji honestly surprised me in the best way. It’s tucked away in Buzovna – which, if you don’t know the area, is about 20 minutes northeast of the city center along the Caspian coast. You know what I loved right away? The drive there actually becomes part of the experience because you’re leaving behind all that urban chaos and suddenly you’re in this quieter coastal zone where locals go to escape the city heat.

The hotel itself has this solid, unpretentious vibe that I really appreciated. It’s officially 4 stars, and while it’s not trying to be some flashy resort, everything just… works. The lobby has these warm earth tones and you can smell the sea air mixing with something that might be jasmine from their gardens. Check-in was smooth – the staff speak decent English, which honestly can be hit or miss in this part of Azerbaijan. My room faced the water (I mean, most of them do), and I could hear these gentle waves at night instead of the usual Baku traffic symphony. The beds are actually comfortable – not too soft, not too firm – and the AC works properly, which trust me, matters a lot during summer months here.

What really won me over was how they handle the little things. The breakfast spread includes proper local dishes alongside the standard hotel fare, so you get fresh lavash bread and local honey instead of just sad croissants. There’s decent parking right there (no hunting for street spots), and the Wi-Fi actually reaches the pool area where I spent most afternoons. The pool itself isn’t Olympic-sized or anything, but it’s clean and the water temperature is perfect. You can walk down to the shoreline in about two minutes – it’s not a pristine beach, but it’s genuine Caspian coastline where you’ll see local families having picnics on weekends. The whole Buzovna area gets pretty lively in the evenings, especially during summer, with families grilling shashlik and kids playing football on the beach. It’s that authentic slice of how Azerbaijanis actually spend their leisure time, not some tourist bubble. I’d definitely go back – it’s one of those places where the 8.7 rating makes perfect sense once you’re there. Not fancy enough to be intimidating, not basic enough to be disappointing.

  I was very fortunate that the hotel allowed an early check in which was very convenient , easy and straight forward,
  i got the room i asked for and it had a lovely view out to the sea.
  the room itself had everything i wanted and was comfortable clean and spacious.
  The hotel is in a very quiet location so bring what you need as what you may want/need may be hard to find if you dont have a car.
  the hotel itself was a beautiful building and the breakfast room was a beautiful building made of wood.
  the breakfast was nice and tasty and i was extremely happy to find that the request i had made to have milk supplied for my tea with my breakfast had been honoured. which proved that they do listen to their customers and their needs so thank you Zaur for being such a good member of staff ,your the best!
