But once you get inside, it’s actually a really solid choice if you want that apartment-style setup without dealing with sketchy Airbnb hosts or whatever.

You’re right in Nasimi district, which I mean, isn’t the absolute center of Baku, but it’s actually better in some ways because you get that local neighborhood feel without all the tourist chaos. There’s this little bakery about two blocks down that does amazing fresh bread in the mornings – the smell literally drifts down the street around 7 AM. And here’s the thing nobody tells you: you’re close enough to walk to the Flame Towers area (maybe 15-20 minutes if you don’t mind a bit of uphill), but far enough away that you’re not dealing with those crazy weekend crowds and inflated prices everywhere.

The apartment itself feels like someone actually lives there, not like those sterile hotel rooms where everything’s bolted down. The kitchen’s got real appliances – I made coffee every morning and even cooked a couple times using stuff from the Green Market (which, by the way, is way easier to get to from here than from the Old City hotels). The Wi-Fi is solid, which honestly can be hit or miss in Baku, and the water pressure in the shower is surprisingly good. I mean, the decor’s nothing fancy, sort of modern-minimalist with some local touches, but it’s clean and comfortable. The bed’s actually decent too – firm but not like sleeping on concrete.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. This part of the city settles down after dinner, so you’re not dealing with street noise or people coming and going all hours like you would closer to Fountains Square. The building itself is well-maintained, and check-in was straightforward – no weird key pickup situations or confusing instructions.

If I’m being completely honest, the only downside is that you’ll probably want to grab taxis for some of the farther attractions, but they’re cheap enough that it’s not a big deal. And the immediate area isn’t super walkable for restaurants – there are definitely local spots around, but if you want variety you’ll need to venture out a bit. But that’s kind of the trade-off for getting authentic neighborhood vibes instead of tourist-central everything.

The whole experience just felt… normal, in the best way possible. Like staying at a friend’s place who has their life together. For the price point and the space you get, especially if you’re planning to spend a few days really exploring Baku rather than just hitting the main sights, it’s honestly a smart choice. You get your own space, a proper kitchen, and you’re living like locals do – which in Baku, actually gives you a much better sense of what the city’s really about.
