You’re close enough to walk to the Old City – maybe fifteen minutes if you don’t mind the stroll – but you’re also near some of the better local restaurants that don’t show up in guidebooks. There’s this fantastic place serving proper Azerbaijani breakfast just two streets over that the hotel recommended, and honestly, it was better than anything I found in the tourist areas. The neighborhood gets quiet at night without feeling dead, and parking (if you’re brave enough to drive in Baku) is actually manageable around here. I stayed during shoulder season so I can’t speak to how crazy it gets in peak tourist months, but the hotel seems sized right – big enough to have proper services, small enough that you’re not fighting crowds for the elevator.
