The check-in was surprisingly smooth for a 4-star spot in Baku, and the staff seemed genuinely happy to see guests rather than just going through the motions.

The rooms live up to that “sea view” promise, though I’d recommend asking for one facing east if you’re an early riser – watching the sunrise over the Caspian is something else entirely. What I really appreciated (and this is coming from someone who’s stayed in way too many hotels) is how they’ve managed to keep things luxurious without that sterile, could-be-anywhere feeling you get at some chain places. The pools are actually free, which… well, in Baku that’s not always a given, and they’re not tiny afterthoughts either. There’s this larger main pool that gets busy around midday, but if you hit it early morning or after 7 PM, it’s practically yours.

Honestly, the location works better than you might expect from the address – Salyan şosesi isn’t exactly the tourist heart of Baku, but that’s actually part of its charm. You’re close enough to get into the Old City when you want that UNESCO World Heritage experience, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with constant crowds and inflated prices every time you want a coffee. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel where you’ll see locals going about their day, which I find way more interesting than being stuck in a tourist bubble. Parking was straightforward (they have their own spaces), and the whole area stays pretty quiet at night – no random street noise keeping you up. I mean, for a perfect 10 rating, you’re getting exactly what you’d hope for: a place that feels special without trying too hard, staff who know what they’re doing, and those little touches that make you want to come back next time you’re in Azerbaijan.

• Comfy stay near Baku in Green City – Aliaksandr from Belarus – 1 July 2025 (10/10)

  Great place to stay with a family or two couples: the apartment has two big bedrooms and a living room with a kitchen, not to mention two separate bathrooms which was extremely convenient! The apartment is modern and spacious, equipped with everything you need. There is a big balcony with a sea view.
  
  The host is kind and responsive, I can definitely recommend Nutella and this place to anyone who would like to have a rest at the beach/pool near Baku. The city centre is accessible by both taxi and bus within 20-25 minutes.
  
  What could be improved: Just some tiny bits not really related to the apartment but more to the area around:
  
  – Green City complex the apartment belongs to doesn't have its own private beach: you have to use either of two public beaches nearby (around 20 minutes on foot from the apartment).
  – There are pigeons in the area that for whatever reason prefer to sit near the balcony, might be annoying for some people
