The rooms themselves are well thought out too — not huge, but cleverly designed so you’re not bumping into furniture every time you open your suitcase. And the beds are actually comfortable, not just expensive-looking (you know the type I’m talking about).

Here’s what really makes this place work though: the location is genuinely useful. You’re close enough to walk to some decent restaurants without having to navigate the more chaotic parts of central Baku, but you can still grab a quick taxi to the Old City or Flame Towers when you want to do the tourist thing. I noticed a lot of business travelers staying here, which usually means reliable wifi, decent breakfast, and bathrooms that don’t have weird quirks — all true in this case. The 8.5 rating makes sense to me because it delivers on the basics really well and then adds just enough extra touches to make you feel like you picked the right place. It’s not going to be the highlight of your trip to Azerbaijan, but it’s also not going to be the thing you complain about when you get home. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want from a hotel — somewhere that handles all the accommodation stuff smoothly so you can focus on actually exploring Baku.

  Big and spacious room. We left for early flight and couldn't take breakfast, the staff pack some sandwiches and fruit for us.

  Location little away from the city, but the rooms and breakfast are excellent. The Staff are very good and helpful. Above all the rates of the hotel are much lower than any comparable hotels in the old town area.

  Stuff was very kind, breakfast was really amazing, as a coffee lover specially I loved the coffee machine which makes lovely cappuccino. Variety of food for breakfast was too much I even couldn't try all. Room was exceptionally clean and jacuzzi was something which I can dream in my room. Just 5mins walk there's a mall which is amazing.

  Excellent option for this rate, confortable room, nice spa and suitable location to get all around city by taxi (easiest way) with less traffic comparing traffic on other streets
